MITARCS wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible. Accessibility is part of respectful participation and our commitment to reducing barriers.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. WCAG is an internationally recognized set of web accessibility standards created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Organizations use these standards to make digital content usable for people with disabilities. This includes:
- Keyboard navigation
- Clear headings and plain language
- Readable text and colour contrast
- Alternative text for images
- Captions or transcripts for recordings, where cultural permissions allow
- Accessible forms and documents
- Correct display of SENĆOŦEN characters and diacritics
Some Indigenous cultural material may have limits on reproduction, transcription or adaptation. Where this affects accessibility, we will explain the limitation and seek an appropriate alternative in consultation with those who hold authority over the material.
