The pole was carved by TEMOSEṈ Chazz Elliott. The ceremony included J,SIṈTEN Dr John Elliott, MENEŦIYE, ȽÁU WELṈEW̱ Tribal School youth dancers and MLA Adam Olsen.
The second Salish welcome pole was unveiled at the Agricultural Hall grounds on National Indigenous Peoples Day with words, dance and song.
